Rock & Walk for Babies, 2018- Tillie's Team
2018 New Hampshire Rock & Walk
Saturday, October 13, 2018
Nashua, NH
We are raising funds and walking in the first annual Rock & Walk for Babies with The New Hampshire Chapter of the TEARS Foundation.
Working with NH TEARS is a way for us to take our grief and put it into action, helping other families that experience a similar horror. In doing this we are able to find some of what we lost and discover ways to speak out about the unspeakable. We are able to honor Tillie and her legacy of love.
We hope you will consider supporting Tillie's Team-- By helping us, you help to inspire hope, honor a child, and celebrate a life.

Tillie's First Birthday Fundraiser- Hospital Care Packages
In honor of what should have been our daughter Mathilda's 1st birthday, we are raising money to purchase You Are the Mother of All Mothers by Angela Miller for every family that endures the devastating loss of stillbirth at Manchester, New Hampshire's Elliot Hospital.
Our hope is to provide this vital resource to every affected family in the year following Mathilda's first birthday. Our daughter, and only child, Mathilda died shortly before she was born after her due date at 40 weeks, 4 days. We gave birth to her on March 4th, 2016. At an ultrasound the day before, we were given the devastating news that our baby was no longer alive, despite being reactive and having a strong heartbeat just two days prior. She was perfect in every way, except she was born still. Many term stillbirths at 37+ weeks are from unknown causes. Stillbirth affects about 24,000 babies each year in the United States. This means that around 1 in 160 pregnancies end in stillbirth. The causes of many stillbirths are unknown. Stillbirths are not caused by something a mother did or did not do. A stillbirth is not a cause of death, but rather a term that means a baby died late in pregnancy. These babies typically are not surgically removed. They do not simply disappear. They are born. As all babies are born, they are born in the same ways that living babies are born. We have birth stories, just like every mother does. These mothers and fathers are just that, and they need a constant reminder. They deserve to know that they did everything right and they are still parents, even though their baby died. You Are the Mother of All Mothers is a validation of parenthood; a strong, affirmative voice that confirms this sentiment in a clear, concise, non-denominational, and easily accessible way. All bereaved parents should have it on their bedside table. Our new goal is to purchase 48 copies of You Are the Mother of All Mothers (Usually $19.99/ book, but a generous 40% discount is given for bulk orders) AND 48 copies of From Father to Father: Letters from Loss Dad to Loss Dad by Emily Long. (with a letter by Jonathan!) All monies raised will go to the purchase of these books, so the more we raise, the more families we can help. We thank you for your generosity and those big beautiful hearts! Darcie, Jonathan & Mathilda |
